Pumpkin regattas and giant jack-o'-lanterns

Hmmm, let's see...

How can I turn this post about a Massachusetts kid who grows giant pumpkins into something travel-related?

Got it. Click here to travel to Nova Scotia, Canada where giant pumpkin growers, after their vast vegetables have been weighed to determine blue ribbons and bragging rights, turn their orange leviathans into boats and race them across Lake Pesaquid in the Windsor-West Hants Pumpkin Festival's annual Pumpkin Regatta.

Alex Noel, the teenager who's the subject of my pumpkin story published in a recent edition of the Boston Globe, doesn't paddle his pumpkins post-weigh-off. He carves them into jumbo jack-o'-lanterns and displays them on his front lawn for Halloween.
